WHO IS DANNY MCCORMICK?

Affectionately known as 'The Man with the Backbone', Danny McCormick is the current State Representative for Louisiana House District 1.

I am 61 years old and a lifelong resident of North Caddo Parish. My wife, Susan, and I have been married for 38 years. We have been blessed with two children and six grandchildren, whom also live in District 1.

Our families have long enjoyed the rural lifestyle, and I have been saddened to watch the slow destruction of our way of life. This is largely due to the tax and regulation increases put in place by those who are backed by wealthy environmentalists.

When these strong players brought the Caddo Lake National Heritage Area to our community via multi-state federal legislation, threatening both personal and property rights, I decided it was time to take a stand. Along with a group of friends, I formed "Caddo Lake's Last Stand" and fought against the bill. The bill is "dead", so we have prevailed for the time being.

After seeing everyone unite to successfully oppose the CLNHA, I feel confident in our ability to join together and make solid changes that are beneficial to all. This belief has been further solidified through my organization, Caddo Parish Alliance, as well as several legislative victories during my first session in the Spring of 2020.

Our grassroots movement continues to gain momentum. It has become clear that we share many of the same concerns, desire the same freedoms, and are ready to stand for them!

It was with prayerful consideration I first made the decision to run for office . I am both humbled by and thankful for the continued support of the people, and am proud to serve as State Representative in NorthWest Louisiana.

What makes me different?

I'm a proven fighter. Far too often, people run for office to benefit themselves, or other groups, at the expense of the people. I'm here because the time has come to stand firm FOR the people... to protect our families, our way of life, and our future.
